Diddy Says He Wasn’t ‘Trolling’ JLo With Throwback Pic

Sean “Diddy” Combs is insisting he wasn’t “trolling” when he posted a throwback photo from his past relationship with Jennifer Lopez earlier this summer. This is according to the cover story from Vanity Fair’s September 2021 issue.

In May, when reports swirled that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were back together after 17 years apart, Diddy posted a throwback photo of himself and Lopez from 2000 to his Instagram.

Viewers soon accused Diddy of trolling Lopez’s new relationship with Affleck. “Stirring the pot we see!” and “Oh this is messy,” commenters wrote. The post has since been deleted.

But Diddy, 51, claims he meant no ill intent with the post. “It wasn’t no trolling involved, that’s just my friend,” he told Vanity Fair. “And I don’t have nothing to say about her relationship or her life.”

The “Bad Boy For Life” rapper and the “Waiting For Tonight” singer dated from September 1999 to February 2001. And Diddy is not lying when he says the two have remained friends over the years.

“I love that he can be so supportive of me so many years later and there’s still so much mutual respect, admiration and love there,” Lopez said of Diddy in 2014.

Diddy and Lopez made headlines last year when they reunited for a COVID-19 livestream fundraiser. Diddy dedicated Elvis Crespo’s “Suavemente” to Lopez, and the two even salsa danced together. Lopez’s then-fiancé Alex Rodriguez was present at the event.

Both Lopez and Diddy seem to be in a good place in their lives. “I am the happiest I’ve ever been in life, I laugh the most, I smile the most, I breathe the most,” Diddy told Vanity Fair.

Meanwhile, Lopez celebrated her 52nd birthday last week, and went Instagram-official with Affleck for the occasion.
