The Unknown Truth Of The Trump Kids

Donald Trump is certainly a figure unto himself. At any given point, he seems to be a focal point of wealth, celebrity, and controversy.

He casts such a long shadow that it’s difficult for family members to stand out on their own. Nonetheless, the various Trump children have spent their entire lives trying to impress their dad and generally stand out from the crowd.

Despite their attempts, there is much the world doesn’t know about the Trump children. And once you learn their secrets, you may never look at this family the same way again!

Donald Trump Jr. might be closer to his grandfather than his father

As Donald Trump’s first child, Donald Jr. is the one who carries their father’s name. But this doesn’t mean they had the kind of close relationship you might expect.

In fact, at a CNN live town hall in April 2016, Don Jr. said that his father was often busy conducting deals rather than spending time with his children.

“We always went to job sites with him,” Don Jr. revealed. “We’d be in his office playing with trucks as a six-year-old while he’s negotiating deals with presidents of major companies.”

So, who was Don Jr.’s real father figure growing up? According to a 2004 New York Magazine piece on Don Jr., that would be his maternal grandfather Miloš Zelníček.

Every summer, Don Jr. spent weeks with his grandfather in Prague doing “father-son things” like fishing, boating, and hunting. As a result of his summers in Prague, Don Jr. learned to speak Czech fluently.

Ivanka Trump says they are not ‘saints’ but they ‘could be a lot worse’

Donald Trump’s second child, Ivanka Trump has been one of the more controversial Trump kids, especially with her increasing role in politics. However, to hear her tell it, things could be much worse.

“Look, none of us are saints. We all like to have fun,” Ivanka told New York Magazine in 2004. “But I think our parents have just been pretty tough with us. They’ve always made sure that we lived within some realm of reality.”

She elaborated to GQ in 2007, “I look at my brothers and myself and I’m, like, really proud of the fact that nobody’s, like, totally f—ed up. Nobody’s a drug addict, nobody’s driving around chasing women, snorting coke. There’s something amazing about that. And you know, this isn’t to pat myself on the back, but I could be a lot worse.”

Eric Trump says he was basically raised by his brother

Do you think that Donald Trump really neglected Don Jr.? Well, Eric’s story is the one that takes the cake! Eric is the third Trump child, and the youngest of Donald’s children with his first wife Ivana.

Speaking to The New York Times in 2006, Eric dropped some bombshells: “[Donald Jr.’s] always been my friend, a mentor. In a way, he raised me. My father, I love and I appreciate, but he always worked 24 hours a day.”

To top it off, Donald shipped Eric off to boarding school with the rest of his siblings when he was just eight years old. Eric is convinced this was to protect him from the media fallout of his parents’ divorce.

Tiffany Trump says she was raised by a single mom

Donald Jr. and Eric Trump may be able to debate who got neglected the most growing up. But I’ve got a feeling that neither of them can hold a candle to Tiffany Trump. She is so far outside the sphere of the Trump family that many people don’t even know who she is!

Growing up, Tiffany was very close to her mother, actress Marla Maples. Donald Trump had had a very infamous affair with Maples while married to Ivana. After his divorce, he married Maples in 1993, two months before Tiffany was born.

But the couple separated in 1997, and Maples raised Tiffany in California while Donald Trump did his business mogul thing in New York. “She did raise me as a single mom,” Tiffany said in an interview with Oprah in 2011.

Meanwhile, Maples has admitted Tiffany would like to spend more time with Donald.

“She’d like to get to know her father better and spend time with him like his other children did: by going to his office and watching him work,” Maples told The New York Times in 2016, when Donald was running for president. “Only now, he’s not in the office anymore. He’s on the campaign trail.”

Youngest son Barron Trump didn’t move into the White House at first

Born in 2006 to Donald Trump and his third wife Melania, Barron Trump is the youngest of the Trump kids. However, it looks like he has the same complicated upbringing as the rest of his siblings.

For example, Barron seems like he is basically being raised by Melania instead of his father. This came to a head when Melania refused to move into the White House with Barron at first, opting to stay in New York and allow Barron to complete the school year.

These old wounds ripped open again with allegations in June that Melania was actually renegotiating her pre-nup during this time. Allegedly, her goal was to better secure a financial legacy for Barron. If this is true, though, it seems like just one more way Barron has been ignored by his father.

Will politics see a Trump dynasty?

Only time will tell if Donald Trump receives a second term as president. However, it looks increasingly likely that our political future may see an ongoing Trump dynasty.

For example, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner have insinuated themselves into the highest levels of politics. They have spent time networking and forging the kinds of connections to secure their own political future.

Other kids have garnered major goodwill for their charitable efforts. This includes Don Jr. raising millions of dollars for Operation Smile and Eric Trump raising over $30 million dollars for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. As Donald Trump has proven, a favorable public image is all you need to become a politician.

Even Tiffany Trump, the seemingly forgotten Trump, has spent these years pursuing a law degree and helping with her father’s campaign. If another Trump runs for office, it’s possible Tiffany will manage the entire campaign!
