Crazy Royal Secrets Discovered By Lip Readers

The Royal Family always does its best to keep things polite and civil, both with each other and with the general public. This is partly because they are nobility from an ancient family, and they want to live up to the reputation of their ancestors. And it’s partly because they’re English: keeping calm and carrying on, all while maintaining a stiff upper lip, is simply what they do.

However, it turns out that even royalty lets its guard down when they think nobody is watching. Over the years, professional lip readers have made it a point to scrutinize what members of this family are saying when the cameras aren’t rolling. This footage never contains an exact audio recording, but that’s okay…these lip readers only need to see mouths moving to suss out royal gossip. Who is saying what, exactly, and what is it that makes these secret statements so scandalous? Keep reading to find out!

Prince Harry got snubbed (repeatedly)

Prince Harry has become something of a black sheep in the Royal Family. This arguably started when he married Meghan Markle; as an American divorcee, she was doubly suspect in the eyes of the English public. Still, the prince usually felt like his name and station would command respect, especially when he was in his home country. Unfortunately, poor Harry discovered the hard way how little people respected him, thanks to numerous little incidents that added up in a big way!

The first of these incidents happened in March 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic gripped the entire world. Harry and Meghan were attending the Commonwealth service at Westminster Abbey and had what they thought was a private conversation. However, a lip reader revealed to the Telegraph what the two were actually talking about. “He literally said ‘Hello, Harry,’ and that was it, and he didn’t say anything more than that. The reader couldn’t confirm who Harry was groping about, but many think it was Prince William, the brother that Harry would later become deeply estranged from.

If that’s not bad enough, it seems that Zara Tindall had fun razzing Harry even earlier than this. In October 2018, only five months after Harry married Meghan, he and Zara Tindall attended Princess Eugenie’s wedding. Interestingly, Eugenie had more official guests in attendance, but Harry had more general onlookers. Zara noted the chiller vibe of Eugenie’s nuptials, and a lip reader told The Mirror that she told Harry, “it’s very quiet compared to the screaming at your wedding.” If that’s not funny enough, Harry seemed genuinely taken aback and reportedly offered her a one-word response.

Prince William hates shaking hands with peasants

For the most part, William has proven to be a popular Prince. It helps that his brother is a magnet for controversy, of course. But long before Harry met Meghan, William was embraced by the English public who would one day call him “king.” However, they might not be so quick to embrace William when they learn how hesitant the future king is to embrace them!

In March 2020, William, Kate, and most other senior royals attended the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey. As popular royals and the future king and queen, William and Kate were expected to shake plenty of hands. However, William was less than excited: as reported by The Sun, a lip reader made out William telling his wife, “This whole handshaking thing is weird. We’re going to have to put a load of hand gel on after this.”

That might sound snobby, like William thinks he’s too good to shake hands with the common man. But keep in mind that this was right before the COVID-19 pandemic shut the whole world down. Prince William wasn’t thrilled to shake hands with countless people who could potentially infect him. Honestly, we can’t really blame the man!

Does Prince William regret his grudge against Harry?

Want to know the worst-kept secret about the Royal Family? Here it is: Prince William and Prince Harry have a major grudge against each other. This reportedly goes back to when Harry was first dating Meghan, and his brother didn’t approve of her. That tension ratcheted up as Harry’s wedding approached, and there were reports of Meghan making Kate cry while picking outfits (Meghan later claimed it was Kate who made her cry). All of this tension allegedly got worse, culminating in Harry and Meghan stepping down from most royal responsibilities and fleeing to America. There, they made accusations against their family: Meghan claimed an unnamed senior royal said racist things about her baby, and Harry later claimed that William got physical with him during a fight over Meghan.

However, there are occasional signs that William regrets the rift with his brother. After he, Kate, Harry, and Meghan interacted at the aforementioned Commonwealth event, a lip reader told the Daily Star that William said, “It’s quite good to connect instead of holding things back like always.” Kate had her back turned, effectively keeping her response hidden. Whatever she said, William shrugged in response and said, “I know it’s bad. I ought to have words with him.”

Again, there’s no guarantee William was talking about Harry, and we don’t know what “holding things back” actually means. But it certainly sounds like the future King regrets that his relationship with his brother fell apart. With any luck, these two will be able to reconcile sometime before William ascends to the throne!
