For those who follow news about the British Royal Family, it’s been an absolutely wild time. That’s because former Prince Andrew has been facing a number of repercussions thanks to his prior relationship with convicted sexual trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. King Charles has stripped the man of his title and military honors and kicked him out of royal lodging. Most recently, Andrew was actually arrested, and a photo soon went viral that showed how dazed and downright terrified he looked after police interrogation.
Most people (even Andrew’s biggest fans) see this as long overdue justice, which it most certainly is. However, you may not realize that Andrew’s highly public shaming could have downstream effects on other members of the Royal Family. In fact, one relationship expert is convinced that this drama could tear William and Kate’s marriage in half!
Andrew’s shocking arrest
Some of the consequences Andrew faced for his association with Jeffrey Epstein are effectively old news. For example, he had already been stripped of his title and his military honors, and in a truly shocking move, Charles kicked him out of the Royal Lodge home in Windsor. Aside from these largely symbolic moves, however, most of us didn’t think he would be facing anything more substantial in the way of consequences.
That all changed when Andrew was recently arrested on suspicion of potential misconduct. Basically, the police were concerned that he may have violated the law in his various dealings with Jeffrey Epstein. They went so far as to arrest the former prince on his birthday, and as you can tell from the image above, Andrew looked absolutely flabbergasted that he was facing such immediate consequences for his alleged transgressions.
However, Andrew’s mounting consequences could dramatically affect other members of the Royal Family. And none are likely to be impacted more than Andrew!

William and Kate are now thrust into the spotlight
While Charles is the reigning King of England, an increasing amount of spotlight has been placed on Prince William and, by extension, Kate Middleton. Everyone knows that these two are the future King and Queen of England, and they effectively speak for the Royal Family. Unfortunately for these two, they are likely going to have to speak about some very unpleasant matters more and more in the coming months.
That’s because Andrew’s recent arrest has the public increasingly wondering how much the royals knew about his association with Jeffrey Epstein. Celebrity relationship coach Nicole Moore recently gave an exclusive interview to Nicki Swift, and she claimed that Andrew’s no good, terrible day could actually spell bad news for the future King and Queen. “When a member of the royal family is facing scrutiny, it tends to put a spotlight on the entire family, so William and Kate likely feel added pressure to maintain composure while in public.” This won’t really matter if their relationship is already very strong. However, “if this couple was not emotionally solid before Andrew’s scandal, they’re likely even more disconnected now.”
The future king needs to get his house in order
So, that leads to the big question: do William and Kate have a strong marriage or not? According to the tabloid headlines (which you should admittedly take with a few grains of salt), things aren’t looking good. A few years back, there were rampant rumors that William was cheating on Kate with the likes of big names like Rose Hanbury. More recently, while Kate was recovering from cancer, there were persistent rumors that William was likely to divorce Kate in favor of a younger, healthier spouse.
Obviously, William can’t control what the rumor mill says. But some believe that where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and we wouldn’t have all these rumors about William cheating on Kate if there wasn’t something unsavory going on. At any rate, one thing’s for sure: these rumors have likely weakened William and Kate’s marriage like never before. Now, Andrew’s scandals may destroy their relationship altogether.

The final straw for William and Kate?
Could Andrew’s scandals be the final straw for William and Kate’s marriage? That may depend on how they view the former prince and whether they agree on his punishments. In that same Nicki Swift interview, relationship coach Nicole Moore claimed that “William and Kate might also face disagreements on whether or not Prince Andrew is guilty of anything, which could cause significant conflict in their marriage.” This could significantly impact their relationship because “When couples disagree on social issues or political matters, that conflict often engulfs the entire dynamic and makes couples doubt their compatibility.”
Obviously, only time will tell whether William and Kate stay together. But their marriage has been buffeted by nasty affair rumors for many years now, and those same tabloids are now spreading rumors that these two are constantly on the verge of divorce. That would take its toll on any relationship, and we can only hope that Andrew’s mounting scandals don’t destroy the marriage of England’s most beloved couple.
